EMS Graduates 17 as County EMRs

On September 30th, 2020, the Oglethorpe County Emergency Medical Service (EMS) completed its five month long Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) course by graduating seventeen (17) students who participated in the class. These students included Oglethorpe County firefighters who already respond to emergencies throughout the county, as well as several Oglethorpe County residents who desired to give back to their community. These students who completed the course will now act as Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) throughout the county, responding to a wide array of emergencies to assist Oglethorpe County EMS. The graduates of the class will also now have the opportunity to take the National Registry Emergency Medial Technician cognitive exam.
