Oglethorpe County Fire & Rescue Obtains 501(C)(3)

Oglethorpe County Fire and Rescue (OCFR) is happy to announce that as of January 13, 2021, we are now classified as a 501(c)(3) public charity. Any donations made to OCFR will now be tax-exempt. Donors will be provided with a receipt for every donation made so that you will have a record when you file your taxes. All funds donated to OCFR go straight to work for you right here in Oglethorpe County. OCFR relies heavily on donations in order to provide members with training, put fuel in our fire apparatuses, and pay for basic operations. OCFR gladly accepts donations in the form of cash, checks, and credit cards.

OCFR would like to thank Mr. Dennis Helmreich, Attorney at Law, out of Lexington, Georgia for his advice and assistance in navigating the application and helping us obtain our 501(c)(3) completely free of charge.
