Oglethorpe EMS Hosts Vehicle Extrication Class

On Sunday, August 9th 2020, Oglethorpe County EMS hosted a Crash Victim Extrication Course provided by the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC). Present were students participating in the Oglethorpe County EMS Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic Course. Oglethorpe County EMS is currently hosting an EMT Basic Course taught by Paramedic Ryan Hollingsworth to Oglethorpe County Volunteer Firefighters, as well as citizens of Oglethorpe County who are interested in becoming volunteer Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) in the county. EMRs assist Oglethorpe County EMS with several medical emergencies every week and help provide life-saving pre-ambulance care. The Crash Victim Extrication Course taught the students how to safely extricate victims who are entrapped in vehicles following motor vehicle accidents. We would like the citizens of Oglethorpe County to know that even in these hard and uncertain times, we are committed to serving and providing the best care possible for our community.
